When you create folders (shares) within Gradwell Cloud Drive, the ability of users to add other users to the folder depends on their user type. You can control this as an administrator using the control panel.
There are three user types within the system:
- External: an external user can only access the files within folders shared with them, they cannot in turn share the folder with other users (or invite other people to create an account)
- Internal: an internal user can invite other existing users to join a folder (share), can by default create shares and can also invite new users to create an account to access the folder
- Admin: admin users can manage users and create new shares
By default, new users are created as External users, but you can change this on a per user basis.
Please be aware that internal users can share your folders with people outside of your organisation by inviting them to create an account! Therefore in most cases we recommend that most users are left as external users.
To do this, log in to your control panel and select Gradwell Cloud Drive from the top menu.
Tip: If this link doesn't appear, you need to select your Gradwell Cloud Drive subscription from the dropdown menu in the top right hand corner of the control panel first.
Your Gradwell Cloud Drive user list will load. To open the administration portal select the Gradwell Cloud Drive CP button.
Your Gradwell Cloud Drive administrator portal will load, along with a list of your current users. Click the user that you wish to edit.
Use the User type dropdown box to select the required permission level, and then click Save.
