If you are moving a database, for example from an old hosting provider to Gradwell Cloud, there are a couple of considerations that you need to make to ensure the move works as you expect.
Importing your database
You can use phpMyAdmin to import your database into Gradwell Cloud. First you will need to create the database.
Now you can import your existing database data. This guide will show you how to export the information from the original database and import it into the new one.
Modifying any configuration files
It is likely that Gradwell Cloud uses a different naming structure to your old hosting provider. All Gradwell Cloud databases and database users have a prefix added to them. If any part of your website configuration references the database name (or any user logins to access it) then you may need to update these.
You can find the database name in the databases area of your control panel.
Ensuring that you can access the database
On the Gradwell Cloud service databases have an IP address and port number - using "localhost" in configuration files will not work.
If you need assistance finding the address of your database the please read this guide.
