In some instances when using our site application functionality to install Wordpress on your domain error pages (such as 404 file not found) are not displayed as expected.
For example, you might see an error like this when someone lands on a URL that doesn't exist:
The requested URL /mylostpage was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
To resolve this, perform the following steps.
Login to the administrator control panel for your Wordpress site. From the administrator control panel select Settings from the left hand menu and then Permalinks.
Select any of the permalink types other than default and select Save Changes. In the example below we have chosen Day and name.
The final step is to sync your site's .htaccess file. To do this please follow the instructions in this article.
Please note that without performing this final step you will still encounter issues with your error pages not appearing.
