The scheduled applications service on our hosting platform allows you to manage one or more repeated executions of CGI web applications. You will need to know the URL of the application file to be executed, as well as any username and password (if required).
Your webspace includes a folder to place your CGI scripts. When you access your webspace by FTP or SSH, look for the /cgi-bin folder.
The full URL to your CGI scripts is http://domainname/cgi-bin/cgi-script (replace the “domainname” with the real name of your domain and “cgi-script” with the script name).
Once your scripts are uploaded you can schedule for them to be executed. After logging in select Manage Website from the websites box (if you have more than one website hosted with Gradwell you will have to choose the correct one using the dropdown box).
From the next page, select More Tools...
...and then Cron Management.
You will see a full list of scheduled applications that you have currently set up. To add a new scheduled applications, simply click Add New Application. Existing applications can be temporarily deactivated by selecting it and clicking Deactivate, or you can delete it permanently using the Delete button.
When adding a new scheduled application you will need to enter the host command you wish to run and the frequency that it should executed (minutely, hourly, daily, weekly, monthly).
